Introduction

Welcome to the lab at Success Vision Express. Following is a guide to assist you with your training in the lab. There are individuals to help you along the way, but if you find yourself alone and need a “helping hand”, this guide and videos on SVO will be a valuable resource.

At Success Vision Express we generate or surface and finish lenses in our labs. To generate or surface a lens is to manipulate the prescribed prescription into a lens. To finish a lens, is to make a pattern of a frame or lens and then cut a generated lens into the pattern.

Some of the single-vision lenses we work with are already generated. The progressive, and lined bifocal and trifocal lenses, as well as photochromic and polarized lenses must be generated. Due to a prescription’s strength or other factors, there are instances where a single vision lens may also have to be generated.  After a lens is generated it is then put through the finishing process.

The equipment you will be working within the lab will make it possible for you to perform the above-noted disciplines.
