Based on the NW8 Manual and Troubleshooting documentation, here is a step-by-step guide to reset the camera on the NW8 Fundus Machine (TRC-NW8 Non-Mydriatic Retinal Camera):

Step-by-Step: Resetting the NW8 Fundus Camera

1. Power Off the Machine

  • Locate the power switch on the main unit.

  • Turn OFF the power completely.

2. Disconnect the Digital Camera

  • Gently unplug or detach the digital camera connection cable from the main unit. (Including the cable that connects to the flash)

3. Check and Reconnect Camera Connection

  • Make sure the camera is seated correctly and the connector is not loose or damaged.

  • Reconnect the digital camera cable securely to the appropriate port on the instrument.

Note: If using a digital SLR camera, ensure it has no battery inside and receives power solely from the fundus unit.

4. Power the Machine Back On

  • Once the camera is securely connected, turn ON the machine using the main power switch.

5. Perform a Camera Reset Using the Green-Dot Buttons

  • Locate the two buttons with green dots (typically on the top of the attached digital camera).

  • Press and hold both buttons simultaneously for a few seconds.

  • Continue holding until the screen blinks off and then back on.

  • This signals that the camera reset has been triggered successfully.

6. Confirm the Error is Cleared

  • Test the unit with a test patient and see if the issues you were experiencing are gone!

Additional Notes & Safety Warnings

  • Do not attempt to disassemble the unit beyond cable reconnection. Internal repairs should be performed only by trained service personnel.

  • Always ensure the cover is closed during operation—an open cover may trigger an “INTERLOCK ERROR!!”
