Acronyms and Abbreviations
There are some common acronyms that you may encounter. Here is a helpful sheet to translate some of the acronyms you may see throughout the training process…
OD – Oculus Dexter (right eye)
OS – Oculus Sinister (left eye)
OU – Oculus Uterque (both eyes)
POF – Patients own frame
ADD – Bifocal
Seg – Segment height (for bifocals)
CWR – Call when ready
MWR – Mail when ready
Ft – Flat top
Tri – Trifocal
CR-39 – Plastic lens
Poly – Polycarbonate lens
Pl – Plano (there is a zero for the sphere section of the RX)
DS or Sph – Dioptic sphere (there is a zero for the cylinder; which is the second part of the RX)
Cyl – Cylinder (the second number in a prescription)
PD – Pupil distance
AR – Anti-Reflective coating
RX – Prescription
SV – Single vision
DNS – Do not service
WL – West Little Rock (store)
SVE – Success Vision Express
CW – Conway (store)
NLR – North Little Rock (store)
TP – Topeka (store)
PC - Paducah (store)
OC – Occular Center
MN – Manhattan (store)
CRM – Customer Remake
HS – Hot Springs (store)
MW - Maplewood (store)
DRM – Doctor Remake
CG – Cape Girardeau (store)
SRM – Success Vision Remake
