Transfer Call to Another Extension on the RingCentral App
Warm Transfer a Call
- During a call, tap Call Actions > Transfer.
- Select a Contact from the list or tap the Dialer to dial the number.
- Tap Ask First. You will then have the chance to talk to the other party before transferring the call.
- Tap the Transfer button to complete.
Cold Transfer a Call
- During a call, tap Call Actions > Transfer.
- Select a Contact from the list or tap the Dialer to dial the number.
- Tap Transfer Now and the call will be transferred right away.
Transfer a Call to Voicemail
- During a call, tap Call Actions > Transfer.
- Select a Contact from the list or tap the Dialer to dial the number.
- Tap To Voicemail. The call will be transferred to the recipient's voicemail.
Transfer Calls to Another Extension on a Polycom VVX 411 Desktop Phone
Cold Transfer (Blind Transfer)
- Answer the Call: Pick up the call you want to transfer.
- Press the Transfer Button: On the Polycom VVX411, there is a soft key labeled "Transfer." Press this button.
- Select Blind Transfer: You will see two options, "Blind" and "Consultative." Press the soft key labeled "Blind."
- Enter the Extension: Use the keypad to enter the extension number you want to transfer the call to.
- Complete the Transfer: Press the "Send" soft key. The call will be immediately transferred to the specified extension.
Hot Transfer (Consultative Transfer)
- Answer the Call: Pick up the call you want to transfer.
- Press the Transfer Button: On the Polycom VVX411, press the soft key labeled "Transfer."
- Select Consultative Transfer: You will see two options, "Blind" and "Consultative." Press the soft key labeled "Consultative."
- Dial the Extension: Use the keypad to enter the extension number you want to transfer the call to.
- Wait for the Person to Answer: The call will ring to the extension you dialed. Wait for the person to answer.
- Announce the Call: Once the person answers, you can announce the call and confirm they are ready to take it.
- Complete the Transfer: Press the "Transfer" button again to complete the transfer and connect the caller to the extension.
Transfer Calls to Another Extension on a Cisco 8861 Desktop Phone
Cold Transfer (Blind Transfer)
- Answer the Call: Pick up the call you want to transfer.
- Press the Transfer Button: On the Cisco 8861, press the "Transfer" button. This is usually labeled as "Transfer" or has a phone icon with an arrow.
- Select Blind Transfer: Press the "Blind" soft key (it might be labeled as "B Trnsfer" or "BXfer").
- Enter the Extension: Use the keypad to enter the extension number you want to transfer the call to.
- Complete the Transfer: Press the "Transfer" soft key again. The call will be immediately transferred to the specified extension.
Hot Transfer (Consultative Transfer)
- Answer the Call: Pick up the call you want to transfer.
- Press the Transfer Button: On the Cisco 8861, press the "Transfer" button.
- Dial the Extension: Use the keypad to enter the extension number you want to transfer the call to.
- Wait for the Person to Answer: The call will ring to the extension you dialed. Wait for the person to answer.
- Announce the Call: Once the person answers, you can announce the call and confirm they are ready to take it.
- Complete the Transfer: Press the "Transfer" button again to complete the transfer and connect the caller to the extension.
