These instructions detail how to replace the pins on a rocker arm. This should be done once a month to ensure the pins' points stay sharp.
Tools Needed
|
1. Hold the rocker arm steady while loosening the lock bolt 2 full turns.
2. Remove each pin using pliers in a twisting motion. Sometimes, the pins can become. seized and may need to be tapped out with a hammer.
3. Insert new pins from the rear of the rocker arm. The pin should be set so that the back of the pin is halfway between width of the rocker arm.

4. Tighten lock bolts back hand tight.
5. Using the swirl pattern block, lock down the newly installed pins under pressure. Both pins should make even contact and should not rock when move when light pressure is applied to the left or right with your hand.
Note: Do not let the rocker arm spin to the extreme left or right as it will break the roll pin that prevents the rocker arm from hitting the lap head.
