Follow the steps below to ensure the Pupilometer is measuring accurately:
1. Remove the 4 Phillips head screws on the bottom of the unit. It will then separate into two pieces. Make sure not to pull them apart with force, as there will be 2 small wires still attaching them for the battery power.
2. Using a PD stick and pen, mark the center of the Bridge of the Pupilometer. Most are 22mm wide, meaning the center is the 11mm mark.
3. Turn the power on, and set both eyes to 30.0mm.
4. Using the PD stick, measure from the black Pupil Aligner (Thin metal wire that you move into the center of the pupil) to the center mark on the Bridge of the Pupilometer. If you set it to 30.0mm, you should be measuring 30.0mm distance. If so, confirm the other side is also correct. If you are measuring a different number, continue to step 5.
5. If you are measuring different than the desired PD, slightly loosen the Phillips screw holding in the Pupil Aligner. You can now move the Pupil aligner further out (If it's reading too narrow) or closer in (If it's reading too wide), then tighten the screw back down and remeasure. Do this for both sides, until they measure the correct desired PD.
