Newly Designed 2G Electronics Enclosure (2014)
There are three main voltages/power supplies to know about and check inside the new 2G Electronics Enclosure (black box).
- 24VDC
Main 5VDC (powers the PC/CPU)
+24VDC (like M24V) powers the servo motors
The - 24VDC powers the display backlight and contrast in addition to the fan of the electronics enclosure. See just below for the locations to check this voltage (circled in yellow). It should read -22.9V when read with a meter. WARNING: The blue and brown wires just to the left of the wires circled in yellow are for live A/C voltage. The brown wire is hot. DO NOT TOUCH these wires or the screws to which they are connected.
The main 5VDC should be 5.01V or 5.02V when measured with a meter. See just below for the locations to measure this voltage (circled in yellow).
The +24VDC must be checked after the machine has booted and after the carriages have moved during the usual homing of servo motors during machine initialization.
When checked at this time and carriages/servo motors are NOT in motion the +24VDC should read +24V +/- 0.2V
If the carriages are moving during burn-in this +24VDC should read about +22.XX Volts (the numbers after the decimal (.XX) will vary). See below where to measure the +24VDC.
Measure on the White/Orange wire and the White/Black wire as shown below (circled in yellow).
